The future role of Architecture Design shall be established on architect’s need to look at preserving our natural resources by designing sustainably. To be sensitive to our climatic conditions and to use passive climate control devises such as shading, wind scoop, rain water collection, etc, to create living environments that are harmonious with the local geographic conditions, and to use technology and resources local to the region. Architects need to design with a social consciousness.

As the world faces more and more natural disasters due to climatic change, the need for temporary sustainable construction becomes one of architect’s social mission. The need for adaption of structures for alternate use, whether temporary or permanent, also becomes essential in the future where preservation of our environment and resources are primary importance.

Bamboo scaffolding is a unique construction technique in Hong Kong that is ideal for temporary structure construction. Bamboo as a sustainable construction material is growing in importance. This installation uses bamboo scaffolding technique to construct architectural forms, demonstrating a sustainable adaptation of the bridge structure temporarily for alternate purposes.
